Hello Out There.....

I am very new,but looking to learn as much as possible. I am reading,but wish there were someone here where I live to really guide me so I could really get a handle on everything.
I am not young, but I am young to Wicca/Witchcraft. I am so hungry to learn and to belong to the right group. A group of my age more or less,patient and willing to share with kindness.
I am 57, will turn 58 come December, scary huh??? Almost getting to the 60's. LOL
I am hungry and thirsty for knowledge,that will help me help others on the way.

I am very new to the magical world. I have not dedicated yet. I spend many hours reading and waiting for my heart to answer me. I have a thirst for the magical arts, just not sure I want religion with it. I would like to find a friend or guide I can discover these things with.

I've always been interested in the craft for as long as I can remember, but to tell ya the truth I don't know how much I can help you.

I've never been in a coven so I can't help ya there. I think my Dad would totally freak. :)

As for being dedicated, I never have been. I figure the God/dess knows I beleive and trust them so maybe I'm already dedicated and just don't know it. I guess I can always hope so anyways. :)

:) I love the way you say that, "I am not young, but I am young to Wicca/Witchcraft." :) You say you wish there was a guide near you. I find the best guide is yourself. I know. I know. We've all heard that before. But it's true. I just listen to my gut and I find it's never wrong. I also find that I kick myself in the bum when I don't listen to it! Go figure. :) You know something is right, yet you don't listen to it??? All I can say is I never claimed to be smart. All I claim is to have a great gut sence. :)

I figure just because you are young in body doesn't mean you are young in mind. So tell me, what is it you do not know?????? Do you believe you don't know enouph spells or is there something else. If it's spells I think the best ones come from your heart. A couple of words can be a 100 times more power than a huge spell if the words mean more to you. I hope this helps, if not, sorry. But I had to give this a try. :)

Not really THAT young. Well, there is a lot of books in the library that you could start with ( at least where I live ). Many of them deal with money stuff. But I got to tell ya, must of the books say stuff along the lines of.... " Ask the gods for the money and than go out and work for it!!! " :) I'm not trying to be a downer though, alot of the spells I've done have just happened with out me trying hard for the result. Just got to have faith is all!!! :) As for spells, just put your heart into it 100%, want it with everything you got, and it'll happen!!!!! I also find your own written spells work better.

You might want to consider looking into Scott Cunningham's works, particularly Wicca: A Guide For The Solitary Practitioner and the follow-up book, Living Wicca. They're short and sweet, and have a lot to offer.

I've been drawn towards the craft since young childhood. I'm in my late 30's now...don't know what took me so long to just do it! I guess because I had no teacher/mentor to help me, and my financial situation is poor. I am a solitary witch. I read books and join groups to get knowledge. I go by what my heart and my gut tell me, really, since I have no one else to guide me (except the Godd & Goddess) I am learning Tarot, Candle Magick ( I love candles!), gemstones,and herbs. I am trying to grow a garden and start some herbs. I have never gardened before in my life (or this lifetime anyway!) anyways, if I am able to help at all ( I don't know much myself) drop me a note....keltikmystique@yahoo.com

Lost My Way....

Hi everyone.

I used to come here all the time when I was younger, I was happy to see the site was still around it's has to be about six years (if not longer) since I last visited. The people here always offered good advice.

I'm in my early twenties, in a job where I am constantly under a great deal of stress and pressure and am very rarely appreciated. I've forgotten what it is to be alive, when I was younger my life had direction, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with my life.

A few years back I suffered with depression. I'm really happy now I'm a lot stronger and more confident, but I no longer know what I want. I really have lost my way. I know I'm only young, but I don't want to watch my life drift by without doing something worthwhile. The thing is, I don't know what I consider worthwhile anymore. Everything I loved and enjoyed seemed to fade with my depression.

Like I said, I'm really happy now. I just wish I could find a path in life - I've forgotte how to do that.

I'm not sure why I came here and said all that. It just seemed like the right thing to do.

If you can, get outside. Sit still for a while.
Look for museum and gallery exhibits that are in your area and actually go see them.

It really is okay that you don't know what you want to be when you grow up.

I'm in my late thirties and still haven't figured that out, but I am living. I've seen the dead sea scrolls, an exhibit of Chihuly glass. I've been to the Getty museum in L.A. and gotten right up close to a Degas, a Renoir, a Monet.

My home state had a tourist campaing a few years ago about being a tourist in your own state.

Send away for travel information from your own state to see if there's something that you didn't know about and then go see it.

Life isn't about know what you want to do, it's about doing. No matter what it is, you can only 'live' by doing. Take pleasure in driving, walking, breathing.

You'll figure it out.
