~ Sharing The Tarot ~
Back by popular demand!
Part five in the thread series. What we're doing here is going through the cards of the Tarot one by one and sharing our interpretations and views on each card. A full explanation is offered in the first thread, The Magician. Feel free to visit the Tarot forum & discuss any of the cards which have already been posted.
Next up: The Hierophant
What comes to mind when you think of the Hierophant? When you pull the card in a spread, what are the first thoughts that pop into your brain? Let's see how different or how similar our views on this card really are.
In the Hierophant I see:
Organized religion
The one who holds the key
Organizations with control over some aspect of life
Bureacracies
Dogma
Offered truth, as opposed to discovered truth
That which is *believed* to be true
Spiritual leader
Conscious mind (holding the keys to subconsciousness & what lies within)
Things interpreted in the manner we *wish* them to be
Ceremonial magick
Secret societies
The status quo
Old systems of thought & belief
Intellect
The establishment

Astirian Circle considers that a true reading involves many aspects of the metaphysical. Numerology is used in many ways before, during and after perusing the cards. Consider the day, time, place, and even the querents personal numbers. Laying out the cards is done only by the querents own hands(no one else is permitted to touch the cards before or during a reading) and the cards numerical value are used to confirm a reading. A typical layout the first 6 cards equal the querent. The next 4 are the life force around them. The pull card is not counted unless used; and it's number is the force of the outcome. Candles, crystals, sacred athame, wands, incense, and the other such items draw in the power of the ether world to help. Cleansing ones self(physically and spiritually) before a reading. Doing the same for the area and all items to be used. I prefer to have student present to take notes to give to the querent and to observe and learn. I personally open the Guardian of the East's window; to allow those who have crossed over to communicate as they feel necessary. That is all for now. Merry meet, Merry Part, and Merry Meet again; Blessed Be to all! Sohta, Elder Priest of Astirian Circle and Church.
