Hi Wite Witch, I thought I was the only witch in the the entire Catholic, Conservative, city; until I started searching. Keep looking, they're out there. You just have to find them! You may email me, at nashwaauset@yahoo.com.
I'm new to the site, but I've studied Wicca for awhile. I welcome anyone that would like to discuss Wicca. You may email me anytime...debi_ritchienv@hotmail.com

I am also new here. I have been studying witchcraft for some time, but mainly off and on. I'm wanting to get more serious about it, but I have a fear of doing my first spell. I guess its just that I fear messing things up, plus I can't afford all the tools. I am drawn to Egyptian mythology, although I'm not sure why. I'd love to talk to anyone about wicca, witchcraft, anything really. My email is carridwen2004@yahoo.com

When it comes to the Craft (call it Wicca or Witchcraft - whatever - it's all the same, really), spellwork is not the main focus. Anyone in any religion can work a spell. That's nothing. Witches do become more adept at it since they work with energy, meditation, the elements, the Gods & the like, but it's still not the main part of what we do.
If you really want to get more serious about it, don't worry about the spellwork just yet. That's more of a side thing, really. The best thing you can do is meditate (#1 on the list - it leads to all other things), work with the elements (meditate on/with water, fire, etc, spend time in nature learning directly from the source, work with them in ritual - stuff like that), delve into the Gods of Egypt & their stories headfirst & get to know them well (since you have an affinity for them), work on circle basics like casting, calling & other basic techniques, spend time learning to move energy during meditation & ritual, learn about the Sabbats & Esbats & mark the occasions with ritual, - and by the time you've worked through all this sort of stuff (not in a week or a month, mind you - take your time - in fact, a full cycle of the Wheel (a year) would be best), spellwork will be both easier & better understood.
It may sound like a lot, and you'd be right to think that. It's really just the tip of the iceburg. This path leads to a lifetime of learning. It may sound like what I've prescribed is the "boring stuff", but believe me, it's not. It's not only the most important stuff to learn at this state but also the most wonderous stuff of all.

I am a beginner in paganism. I started looking into it about 2 years ago when I felt I needed to find my spiritual place here (I had rejected Christianity shortly after I graduated high school). I am looking for mentors to share stories with me about their early experiences and to give me some insight as to where to start. I'm not really interested in spells yet. Some useful hints on meditation and maybe some good book recommendations would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help!
Bless.
